After the record sunshine levels in April and May, relative to the average June levels have been nowhere near as high.

Indeed in a few spots possibly below average, for many average at best.

Anyone have the stats.

Despite decent overall temps, the cloudier and much wetter conditions will make June a rather a poor month here at least.

More than a few spots, most of country looks to have a duller than average month some parts notably, down in Cornwall...Camborne, set to have their 2nd dullest June on record, only behind 2012 only on ~125 hours. Here in London (Heathrow) to 28th on 172.9 hours the average for June is 204.3 hours. A poor, very forgettable summer month if you ask me, anyone that considers it to be a good summer month hasn’t got a good grasp on what’s normal it is OK at best doesn’t deserve any praise.

I don’t care much about temps in London it’s warm enough “cool” or not it’s the sunshine which makes the mood and this has been so far from May...300 hours of sunshine.

Thanks for stats. A duller month for many then, combined with average or above average rain, a poor summer month.

June was about average or slightly above in the south and east, Duller than average in the SW and NW England, west Wales, N Ireland and most of Scotland (again).

179.2 hours here, so not drastically below average. Only a handful of completely dull days, but also few completely sunny days.

Think it was around average, the sunny first few days and the ‘heatwave’ helped.
