This was the late evening storm as it passed over Filey. It was nice enough as it come up from Bridlington, but as it approached the coast, a real nice feeder band developed into it and it really ramp

My view of the Bude cell   Edit:excuse the washing

Very impressive lightning display here in Scotland in the early hours. I am just a amateur photographer but I am pleased with what I managed to capture. Here is a selection of all the best ones I got.

I just glanced at the radar and see there is an area of rain heading across the Channel towards Surrey.

However, not only has it de-electrified, it is shrivelling as it heads north. That suggests a cap remains over the area despite some low-level drizzle showing up.

Hmmm. I'm not encouraged.  Looks like a "whimper" scenario for the heat exit.

Yikes, where are you currently?

I wouldn't count out some cells developing anywhere in the channel at the moment, once this rain has cleared we should have a better idea

I was east of Winchester. Glad I left when I did as the radar is even more pitiful now! As @Azazel said, a nice drive with a breeze if nothing else. Storm-wise, a total bust down here, barring some kind of early hours miracle. Now to try and sleep in the sauna of a house while knowing no storms are coming to relieve it, depressing!

That rain blob heading towards Brighton appears to have an anti-clockwise spin to it (run the radar back and forth a few frames it looks like a whirlpool)

And so the heat goes out with a whimper in Hampshire as is often the case since 2007. How predictably boring.

I know it's ridiculous here!!

Thinking there may well be a renewed breakout of elevated cells a bit later on.

Anyone seen that MCS in central southern France!? Wish that was heading over. Absolute monumental strike rate on it.

Yeh,i cannot stop looking at it with envy.

Hadn't even noticed that over France until the posts above :shok:

Even if that was over northern France I'm sure it would find a way for avoid crossing the channel
