Just been a strike near Milton Keynes. Headed outside and didn't hear anything.

Well this clump of rain further north than expected has stopped any chances here so far (while anything with interesting heaviness misses here). Sounds very familiar to the only day in that June convective spell where I had a chance, only for a rain band to be much further south and scupper it.

Question is, will the clearance coming into Cornwall lead to developments? Looking very quiet currently.

Rumbling loudly over here, rain getting very heavy with slight hail, few close CG's, completely did not believe the forecast, did not follow nothing and it pays off lol.

Interesting to see how heavy and large this storm area is!

That stretch from Milton Keynes to Kings Lynn seems to get a lot of activity when storms move across in a NW direction

Skies finally clearing in Kingsbridge. Few sharp showers formed rapidly in the far west of Cornwall. Worth keeping an eye on.

First showers popping up in the SW. Bodes well for later.

Wettest day since March 5th here. Some decent downpours.

So despite not really being electrified, would this glub be classed as an MCS?  And if so could it spawn its own MCV?

probably wrong but im pretty sure its just embedded storms rather than an mcs.

Just a wave on the front - yesterday's 12z EC did a reasonably good job with it, while many of the high-res models struggled with the extent of the precipitation. This is very common with frontal waves - they are often more extensive and further north than models would imply...

Yeah, it's frontal rainfall with embedded storms adjoined to its north.

Developments for the evening underway now  in Devon and Cornwall, as shown by models.
