Some PPN off the coast of Kent and northern France, even some lightning detected in them too.

A small area of rain (well, allegedly) heading into Norfolk. Whoopee.

This is probably the worst year on record for me.

Some virga to my east is being reflected off the sunlight and this is what it looks like. Seriously impressive.

Well just caught the very edge of the best bit here in Garforth, cracking storm to end a perfect summer weather day! 33c and this beauty as it blasted by! Looked apocalyptic as it approached! And 1 very close cg bolt! 20200731_194347.thumb.jpg.4328739deb7cef4c890033d37b333880.jpg378556382_Screenshot_20200731-202723_NWStormRadar.thumb.jpg.d5715cd35349cc34eb6f5c034b8ef0db.jpg

There's a valley to the west of us and a valley to the east. What storms used to is go down both or either valley and then build over the city centre. It's rare these days they make it past the Dronfield bypass so this year has been good despite there only being one direct hit. However you used to get some good storms. Somewhere on the forums there are some photos from me from a storm which went down the valley to the west of us. Even had a nice gust front to it.

Light rain here and the end of any chance of a direct hit. Only a matter of time until I actually get a good storm.

Living in Dronfield at the time i became used to seeing storms over the hills looking towards Apperknowle and seeing storms go over the hills towards Dore/Ringinglow way been incredibly frustrating over the years cant remember last time i had a storm directly over me.

This was the closest storm we have had for a long time it drifted north east east over Rotherham could see huge  bolts of forked lightning over towards Rotherham with a lot of flashing in the distance it was pitch black.

Evening all.. well well well the wait for a storm in Lincoln is officially over. Was it worth the wait???? Hell yeh. Constant CG lightning. Stupidly loud thunder and it knocked the power out. The best storm I’ve seen since being in Florida. Happy days

Hasn't really shown up on lightning detectors but a very significant flashyboiworked its way past LBA airport earlier. Lots of luscious white flashes and shotgun thunder.

I think its safe to say the storm shield has now been broken lol, even if that's the only storm of the year I'm certainly happy with what we just had. Incredible lightning I'm seeing as it heads North

Did you see the massive bolt earlier with the loud crack of thunder from your end?
