31.7c down garden and 30c on the patio. Taking into account microclimate bias i would wager at least 29c here in Tamworth, Staffordshire.

Much warmer than forecast and thus potentially different in reality to what high res models were showing.

5 oktas cloud cover currently would say also - a fair amount of convection

Met Office video forecast released this morning not matching up to the current radar.

And that shower near Ely just died.

Nowcasting?

Please guys, stop taking photos of a few clouds in a blue sky. It means jack all and clogs up the thread. Only post if you have something meaningful related to *severe weather* (hence the thread name).

Cloud development is expected when you have moisture and heat. It doesn't mean it will necessarily develop into a storm. There are many more variables that need to be considered.

He has a point. I love fair weather clouds and cumulus, and the ‘build’ of a storm, but with so many people in here it’s just making the thread miles long.

Maybe some sort of cap (pun intended) on non-severe weather photos to one per post would work?

Also maybe just think when you’ve posted some sky already, don’t post any others unless it’s really on point for the subject of developing severe weather.

It’s only fair on ppl who use the thread to try and get a handle on the science behind the current Synoptics

Also maybe a pause on people asking for a personal forecast for a specific location too, that’s what google is for - and to be fair it’s been pretty spot on for the south recently by ignoring all forecasts of activity

Plenty of towers to the south of here and a few specs now popping up on the radar, is it time to move further North?!

The atmosphere is definately trying to produce something. Lots of tiny showers popping up right across central England now.

I'm all for pictures of any types of cumulus as I find it particularly interesting to see a corresponding observation with the Sat24 loop.

Regardless it is only a matter of time before the atmosphere goes bang. Convergence is setup on the NE side of the cumulus field and is expected to hover around Dan's MDT he issued this morning.

quite a bit of convection round here. although im not expecting anything.

Im wishing/hoping for a push further southwest for storms but i think im missing out today.

still.. looks like there is potential up there!!! things can explode very quickly.

So pretty much no chance down here in South London? We've had a few clouds build, which looked highly unthreatening, have gone again, but the local temp has only risen 0.5c in the last 2 hours, the increasing breeze is holding back the temps.

its annoying that's what it is, its lapping over the coast keeping it much, much cooler. 5miles inland its 3-5C warmer. Its a low stratus.

24°C here, the IOW doing a good job of breaking it up before it reaches here. Local variations at play today.

I just drove through that shower near ely on my way back home - a few small spots, nothing much more. Signs things are brewing though I hope - at least we know the atmosphere is capable of producing a shower!!  Now prepping my stuff to get out chasing later out and about between ely and kings Lynn,

Ps please can we treat each other with a bit of respect on here - there are a couple that love to look down at their fellow posters like they are ‘superior moderators’, or gods. It gets on my wick!!

It's glorious here in West Yorkshire now after this morning's crud has disappeared. Not a cloud in the sky and getting warmer. 25C and climbing, feeling very close.
