@Paul Sherman what time do you think that stuff leaving France will get to the Sussex coast as seems like it will be earlier than forecast

Completely agree could the cone of silence be broken tonight

Not too optimistic about a storm hitting here, but this is the UK. Anything's possible!

Edit: Are those more cells forming to the NW of that muck in the channel??

Yes, just at the top of Avon beach and it's feeling ripe!

Just been down there but didn’t see a lot at the time. Still rather busy when I was there.

Back home now and I can see clouds to the south.

Getting some of this above me now. It’s so oppressive it feels like the atmosphere is going to explode at any moment!

Isle of man looks like it may get a clobbering soon.

Hoping that continues to develop and track into south west Scotland.

Give it 10 or so minutes and I would think any lightning coming from that system leaving France will be visible, as it should be elevated enough for us southerners to see

I don't think it will be long before things get interesting, I'll be around mudeford if anyone in the area is interested in a storm meet up

Might have just heard Thunder!

But it could be my mind playing tricks!

The storms seem to be a lot further east? Chances of a London area arrival?
