Are we thinking the N France storms is the nose of highly unstable air detonating? If so, suggests good omens for tonight.

Out in the open now to see what’s going on. Looking full of potential at the moment.

Some signs of rotation within the updrafts too.

Looks like the staff of the cafe failed their brolly training. Hysterical watching the guys fight with them!

One of the brollys now reduced to matchwood.

More entertaining than waiting for storms in Reigate.

Freak storm came without warning...

Unless you looked at the radar which everyone has access to.

I can't be the only one thinking that the storm in Normandy is going to be a Kent clipper?!

Is the blob that has appeared off the Kent coast a radar blip? Cos it appears to be getting more intense??!

Just looks wrong to be a storm. Defo anoprop

You can always cross compare with sat24 too. You see the cloud developing on there before the radar presents anything. Clear blue for that part now.

Still liking the Friday night into Saturday morning for the SE for an imported MCS - Temps could still be around 30c tomorrow

I can see towers going up way out to my west. Checked the radar and sure enough, a little development near Shrewsbury.

It looks like the stuff leaving France will slide East of here.

It's also beginning to die.

I think it will be a kent clipper judging off the direction of the lightning, I hope it will be a kent clipper.

Already the storms moving north through the Channel Islands are moving into a more heavily capped environment and losing their radar presentation.

Thanks for that, was just getting hopeful

Sure enough, it’s just disappeared after being there for 15 minutes

I can really smell the moisture and humidity in the air when I open my window here in south London so I think it is getting muggier
