What time is governments daily conference on thunderstorms?

I await the questions with interest. Now Mr Johnson the Met Office have told us there will be thunderstorms. So where will these be and will you apologise if they do not turn up over 23 Railway Cuttings as shown.

Err well Snipper that is a very good question. I think I will pass you over to Michael Fish who has been dumped into the excrement before. Quite unjustifiably in my book.

Seems to me as all this fun may be off the cards here in NW London unless I am mistaken?

Latest Met Office forecast shows 2 potential chances for London - tomorrow morning & afternoon. They'll be hit & miss though.

Brief Update From Tony Gilbert

Brief update 3.30pm

A few T storms earlier NW Scotland and more recently Cornwall.
Convection currently bouncing down off a moderate low level cap.

Cut off point extended till 04z for central south.

12z Castor Bay and Cambs Sounding heavily capped at low levels.
Surface dew points were well down on forecast.

Map below is based on what could occur if surface moisture can increase sufficiently. Conversely if any storm that develop stay elevated then there is no tornado risk.

Edit - Image is very small and probably worthless

That would be a pathetic way to end a heatwave. *Yawn* hope that does not come off. Seems like too much of a downgrade

Plenty going on in northern France now. The big question is, how much of that will make it over here?

Interesting to see he’s extended his box east. I was beginning to lose all hope.

They must have developed incredibly quickly, I looked at the same spot around 5 minutes ago and it wasn't showing anything.

Now looking at the lightning map 5 minutes later, it's just erupting!!

Hopefully they will turn into a kent clipper :spiteful: you'll be happy, bear in mind temps are hotter down there so they are probably surfaced based

I think It indicates The Heaviness of the rain the darker the colour the heavier the Rain , Believe that's from the Euro 4 Model , that 06z didn't go for a mass of rain overnight either

this is the UK it most certainly can , I'd be surprised if nothing whatsoever happened but I don't think anything really widespread was ever indicated and by really widespread I mean the whole of England was hit at once using that as a poor example
