First bits of mid-level cloud showing up recently around West Dorset area now. One to watch for sure.

Yep, same in Kingsbridge, first few clouds starting to encroach from the south. Very hot and humid out.

I see the MO has extended today's Yellow Warning to include more of the SE and Kent, for the second pulse of 'storms' from France.

I'm looking forward to the Yellow Drizzle that will afflict Reigate from this doom-laden warning.

Looking at French weather for Brittany, the humidity is through the roof in the Roscoff area (97%) with the wind also gusting up to 25mph. Compared to say Carnac,  where the showers have set in, it's very noticeable the difference. The temp is also about 4 or 5c higher in Roscoff currently (27 v 22 in Carnac)

All seems to be moving North and North East, so we've a chance here in South Devon I guess.

Looks like a classic case of SW England, Bath Somerset, then Swansea/Cardiff north 11pm-4am medium level cloud lightning.

My favourite type

ECM is an absolute tragedy for the SE  can’t make up its mind. Kills off the cells on the south coast at 03z

Models will chop and change, they don't handle destabilising plumes very well, 06z EC which I have access to doesn't look too bad for the SE for around 6-9am tomorrow morning.

I am liking the look of that....

giphy.thumb.gif.0c0362a5b477787262a955f1fa58c631.gif

...but as is always the case/nature of storms they will be hit and miss

radar and Satellite watching is the best to look at on the day

i haven't posted much as i am trying to get everything done garden wise, cutting lawns, painting fences etc but that heat is slowing me up a bit lol

good luck to everyone down in the south tonight

stay safe and take care all

later's
