Its started snowing lightly here, onto frosty ground and it seems to be melting it! Surely we don't need evap cooling in these conditions...

I'm not gonna get my hopes up tonight with snow potential, there might be a slight covering but beyond that it looks like temperatures should increase a little from tomorrow. There's been some real highs and lows on the MOD lately but as ever low expectations seem to be best as when this easterly gets watered down (which i can see happening), looks like daytime highs of 3/4c which lets be honest, is cold but not really what we want.

Warning just been issued.

It’s coming down a fair bit now, giving a fresh dusting. Although it’s more like graupel than proper snow.

I'm hoping that the relative abundance of snow you have enjoyed compared to the rest of the region will, at least for a week or 2, give us a break from your regular "it snows everywhere apart from where I live" type of posts.

This is a nice surprise. It’s really coming down now! None of the models showed a risk this morning. The ECM has a band of snow coming through later, which can be seen on the radar across northern England at the moment, and I believe that’s what a warning has just been issued for. Other models then have some snow showers more widely for the Midlands this evening.

Really struck lucky. This place seems to do well in very marginal setups but poorly when it’s not marginal. Odd.
