Good Evening all. As others have mentioned, today there has been a lot of melt, still some snow cover but you can tell it is rather wet. Pretty impressive to have quite a few days of snow cover just from a few disturbances and showers and not from a large scale snow event. Looking forward to the coming weeks. I wonder many days we will record some lying snow on the ground!

yes bit wet now, bits of rain on my walk, still quite a lot of snow at Weston Road, 3 miles N of me, similar elevation though,

Nothing to get too excited about, just been out with the dog & very light white stuff dropping out of the sky. Fingers crossed for tomorrow

Was wondering why BBC app had me down for hours of heavy snow showers tomorrow.

Where is it coming from though, surely it's from the East or Northeast, so 3 hours earlier should be over East Midlands, unless it is appearing out if nowhere?

Strange, you would think West of region would be more likely to be less marginal as more protected from sea influence.

Dews look ok away from the e.coast and se.Hard to say if we get much or if it will lie. This as the easterly sets in so maybe a little disturbance in the flow to create precipitation.

Let’s see what the situation is in the morning but I’d say there’s a decent chance of a covering again

18Z GFS shifts it slightly West, hope not any more, or it'll end up in bloody Ireland

Looks like at least part of the Midlands may well get a covering (or top up) tomorrow, but still disagreement on exactly where.

I don’t have a problem with challenging forecasts and looking into why they might or might not be correct. But to dismiss one as useless before anything has happened seems a little unfair.

As we discussed on here last weekend, it’s best to draw an overall impression using several forecasts. Watch how they update and evolve.
