I agree, we got 20cm 10th December 2017, today got about 4/5cm, i somehow forget that 2017 event lol.

That December 2017 event was pretty remarkable. Forecast was for 4 inches but like you said we got 8 inches. Stuck around fully for the next couple of days after that with only a little melting

Hi All,

hope everyone has been keeping well.

im not so active anymore as live up in leeds now but frequent this place still.

I had been following this event and had a good feeling about it despite some of the negativity from some of the usual culprits

Good a good 5cm here in gentleshaw at decent height asl... off out to enjoy now!

Not a flake here. Again.

We had a slight covering in Shirley between about 6 and 730 but it pettered out and appears to have drifted back west in the pivot but looks likely to be more chances during the week

A few bigger flakes coming down now, its trying to stick on the grass and roofs at least. Too late for the 9am lying snow now but if we get more like this and the temp doesn't randomly go up we might yet have a chance for tomorrow.

Morning all!!!

Missed the fun.

Temp currently 0.7C with a dew point at -1.4C.

I guess the snow at about 7:00 dropped a cm here, just west of Solihull centre.

Looks white on roofs, ground, cars, road, but the grass is still showing green through the white.

Glad at least some saw the snow. Now for the next burst tonight as my weather app has just changed to rain at 11:00.

What chance it will be correct for once?

MIA

New Met Office Snow and Ice warnings, for central and southern Midlands: very uncertain so just just a possibility at this stage

Models for tomorrow are favouring snowfall in areas to the west of the region, which is rather unfortunate for those who did not receive any today. Having said that, it is only the 6Z run and none of them seem to be very good when it comes to predicting the exact location of snowfall (as was the case this morning). Any snow that does fall tomorrow won't last very long (especially on lower ground) given that maximum temperatures are between 3-6C.

The temperatures would bother me surrounding any long lasting snowfall in our region. Already its very slushy around here, will keep an eye on things for wednesday of course! But we all know it'll be that marginal that nowcasting will come into play.
