No  you're absolutely right. My comment was a bit tongue in cheek as Stoke has been the sweet spot. If that easterly materialises you'll be in a much better location than here or stoke, so fingers crossed it pays off!

A positive note.... Just a small reminder of where we were last year, if I remember I didn’t see a flake winter 2019, so up to now I’ve surpassed last year

Saw a good dumping in February, which wasn’t forecast. A poor winter otherwise.

did you! all I saw here was good snow event on 10th, rain turned to heavy snow, whiteout mid afternoon, but not dumping

Yeah. There was a good few inches of snow by the end of the day. Grid locked traffic across Stoke.

going a bit foggy now, just a feeling but a lot of this region will see little or no snow between now and next Fri 8th Jan, Thurs looks dry, Fri rain/sleet, Sat dry

Sun to Thurs very showery mainly rain

Remember that day well as it was my birthday and I was off work which meant I could enjoy the snow. That band went right across the A50 corridor too but was very narrow.

There as been loads of talk about uppers  and not being cold enough for snow etc   but just to prove  even tonight  there is still loads of snow about   at  modest heights

TBH it only takes a few millimetres to gridlock the entirety of Stoke.
