Stopped now, few drips started.

Definitely very localised then as we have just had the heaviest snow so far for around 5-10 mins and only just down the road from Wolvo.

Snow doughnut at its heaviest now a good 5cm has fallen. I admit I called it wrong earlier.

I'm really shocked at how large the flakes are, as others have said they are huge.

Temps down to 0.3C, dew -0.4C

We just had 10 mins of wet snow, which didn't settle. By the looks of the radar, that's our lot for the foreseeable amazing.

Tell you what guys, i have been spoilt rotten since yesterday morning. about 6cm yesterday and id say another 2cm top up today. Roads are a mess at the moment, winter wonderland. Even if thats our lot, we've had a good little snow event this winter, and compared to the past few, its already better!

Finally we get a decent shower which has coated the place. Rapidly melting now though!

Euro4 showing a potentially snowy New Year’s Eve.

Snow showers from the north west early in the day, pushing across the whole region.

Then an area of rain, sleet and snow pushing down from the north late in the day.

Stopped here too.

The stream that was following it and heading to more eastern parts of Brum is getting cut off and weakening already unfortunatly.

But, it might not be up there with the memorable snow falls of March 2013, December 2017 or March 2018. But I think I will be remembering the past two days simply because it's the one that ended the drought.

I didn't really post on here throughout Autumn and most of December because I honestly thought we were heading for yet another yucky winter. I even refused to get drawn in over any excitement for this week.

I like being wrong sometimes.

No settling snow in Stratford, but at least what is falling from the sky is snow.

Huge flakes and daytime darkness in Pershore at the moment. Has been flitting between rain and snow for an hour or so now, with wet snow falling during the heavier precip.

Lovely to see the whiteness spreading around the region! We had about 3 cm yesterday up on the Malvern hills, and today have had a couple of heavy periods of snow, but it does seem quite wet underneath and readily disappearing, can hear a lot of dripping.
