Thought that was it but we are back to huge flakes again, some of these showers behind the main band are quite heavy.

Finally got some here!  Near Tutbury Burton on Trent. Very welcome sight. We are  a  couple of miles from the Derbyshire borders. Was thick & fast but slowed down now.

Light snow here seems any heavy stuff has gone west still nice to see after yesterday's fun and games but todays wont really amount to much here. Glad to see Stoke and other areas getting a pasting.

Light to Moderate snow, the odd heavy bursts mixed in, giving a slight extra dusting.

Not lying as readily as yesterday. But that’s to be expected, falling in daylight hours and not as heavy.

But hey, this morning’s snowfall on it’s own would be an improvement on anything over the past (almost) 3 years. The fact it’s falling on top of already fallen snow is even better.

Just keeping an eye on the back edge as it pivots. Not over yet i think.

Moderate at best here, nothing classed as "heavy" yet, though saying that it' just turned. large flakes falling. - Temp holding at 0.0C.

Best ever snow events for shropshire are from this

Yes definitely a good setup for round here, as long as the wind doesn't end up too W'ly and just send it all to the Peak District. And there are no mysterious pockets of warm air coming down from the north causing rain/thawing (late Jan 2015 I'm looking at you).

Some of the charts I've seen for Weds/Thurs look good- flow in the right direction, low thicknesses, uppers that seem OK. Just give us a morning of lying snow in 2020!

Back to now, its still snow and got maybe 0.5cm on the garden now

Biggest flakes seen yet, 50p size and settling much much easier now.

Just light snowfall here and it’s just dampening the ground,

I can’t see me even getting a dusting as it won’t settle

temp at 1.6c

Big snowflakes again, you can see bands of this on the radar for my location, another two bands to cross. Get in!

Bit of a temporary streamer set up behind the main area. It’ll get cut off as it all pivots. But for now, I think the pivoting could send those showers to more eastern parts of Birmingham and perhaps Solihull. It will all get cut off at some point though, so enjoy what’s coming through now.

May well be in line for a stream of heavy falls shortly - looking at that radar.

A lovely snowy surprise this morning here in Barrow upon Soar, especially for my little boy who hasn’t seen snow before!

Lot’s of surprises to come to I think! Here’s to the start of a long, cold and hopefully very snowy couple of months!
