The Cumbria snow forcefield doing more excellent work today, pushing the snow to the south as usual.

Yes missed out yet again! Third time luck perhaps, everything seems to be swirling around us. When rain is forecast we always hit the bullseye!

Hi mate I recently moved to Halewood not far from the airport. Wanted to be a bit further inland got fed up of Crosby. So far it’s working out well. Loving the new house.

Ahh much better for snow! I recall in my uni days even childwall on the way to Halewood was often better for snow than Wirral and Merseyside west coast.

Looks like you might get some snow there very soon.

..it’s quite steady now, picture below was earlier so it’s settling and looking at the radar and various forecasts, I thing that my area is going to see a reasonable accumulation...

Mostly been snizzle, we have had some heavier bursts but the snow cover has melted in between, still cover on grass and roofs. Looked like we would of got a cm or 2 but doesn't look like that now.

Same as the other night, energy heading southwards so you left with just bits and pieces.

The next potential event is probably even more marginal because of time of day and more wind which mixed the cold out. Those easterlies that are forecast are perhaps going to show why I been banging on about poor upper air temperatures.

Hope you all keep your snow as long as possible as its 100% rain here now. Temp 0.3c so as mentioned can only think warmer air is above.

On Sunday we were too close to centre of low, on Monday the front backed off as it hit Cumbrian coast very odd, today too far west...

Another feature expected Thursday, will we be too far west again?

Our best snow events come from Atlantic fronts meeting cold air, onshore SE light drift and its bingo, alas they usually result in a rapid thaw unless they stall or are forced back south.

Light snow ❄️ but intensity will need to pick up which it looks like it will from the east in the next hour for us to see a dusting- a covering.

Milder air aloft behind the front, front now going here. Quite a bit of N Sea air mixing. Much of NE England saw just rain, quite unusual for a feature from the NE to usher in milder air.

Ha, the dusting I got is already melting due to the sleet.

I will give it 5/10 mins to see if there is some heavier stuff and snow otherwise this snow watch is done.

Yeah, the radar looks good but in reality it's not great. Snowing moderately but the ground is now wet so no snow cover here on the pavemets or roads.
