Just checked radar, that band has really developed over night. I'm sure it'll reach here but the big question is, will it be snow?

Yes. I’m under the blue stuff and it’s fine snow

Getting heavier now, looking very nice, hopefully it's cold enough for when the main band hits

Light snow, laying a covering down.  Will probably be a blizzard by the time I have to drive to work in a hour or so.

snow started. Heavy and covering instantly as all surfaces frozen and loads more to come!

Yeah a good covering now and still coming down.

I’m just glad that I looked out of the window before reading the posts as it looked at one stage like my thoughts of it missing us and crossing the Pennines further south may be coming true.

anyway looking at the radar we should get another hour or so before it clears through so maybe a covering of 50mm or so in the end.

Looking at the radar Manchester is going to take a direct hit surely?

Could be a good event this, just need the temp to stay down.

Still frosty out there, come on snow you can make it. Pathetic isn't it, the Mrs thinks I'm mad!

It should hit you surely, as I say Preston southwards should get moderate to heavy snow.

I mean the front up here is so weak I can see the setting moon although looked like a few flakes fell. Luck of the draw really.

South Manchester is turning into a winter wonderland.

Absolutely brilliant.

If the temp stays low we could do very well out of this.

Good start to the morning here. Settled on frozen ground easily. Temp down to -3 overnight and went up to 0.6 as the cloud came over. Now back down to freezing. Looks like another hour or so still to go.
