This mornings Meto text forecast seems to indicate a Cheshire Gap event overnight into tomorrow @Kasim AwanAny thoughts?

Possible, no guarantee. Feed of showers rather than a potent streamer. I expect this may set up near the Wirral & head towards Chester / Northwich dusting possible if it slows down maybe 2-3cm. Nothing noteworthy really.

Just woke up, checked outside - standard. Checked radar -

You mean the ppn from NE?

Hope it has legs to get over the hill.

Ice rink out there. Maybe what’s due in the next hour might spring a few surprises.

The snow has arrived and its coming down at a pretty good rate. The Pennine routes will be a no go looking at the radar.

Looking at the radar and the reports coming in from Yorkshire, I think anywhere south of Preston is in line for some heavy snow, looks like things are on the right side of marginal thankfully.

Would not fully rule out some snowfall north of Preston but its likely to be more sporadic and localised with high ground obviously favoured.

Looking good for us this morning especially with what looks like a 'Humber streamer' setting up with more ppn still developing to the East.

Wonder if this might just reach us in the very north east of Merseyside? ??❄️☃️

Hi mate,

That would be front page news here, there are some real snow deserts in this region.

Good posting BTW, good to have you in here.

Met Office don’t have the main band coming through till around 8-10am (later than initially forecast) for the majority - there will be some marginality a mix of sleet & wet snow I’m sure particularly close to the coast if it reaches there but the heavy snow graphics are up at least. Hope we all get a covering! ❄️

Just checked radar, that band has really developed over night. I'm sure it'll reach here but the big question is, will it be snow?

I’m guessing a sleet/ wet snow mix that may well stick in the heavier bursts for us Cheshire/ Wirral & Merseyside lot much less marginal further east up towards the peaks. Just hope it reaches us now! ❄️
