There's a lot of high cloud around at the moment limiting the fall of the temperature.

Did well considering Heaten Chapel had none. Very narrow margins. Looks more marginal this time. The wrf which did well last night has the precip intensifying over Manchester which could be interesting though.

Here in Nelson the snow is still around but from the minute it fell yesterday it was slightly melting and has continued to very slowly melt today but tonight temps are going to be lower so all should freeze up and last even longer ☺️

Manchester airport taf indicating snow showers 3am-8am

Liverpool airport taf indicating rain and snow showers for the same period

Onto the ECM now to see if it still shows an event for Wednesday GFS sends this front no further than south Midlands which is why the warnings don't affect us on Wednesday unusual for the met to go with the GFS normal they go with a middle ground of ECM and GFS.

-1.3°C here now and still falling. I can’t see any marginality even with the cloud later  it is much colder than forecast.

I'm guessing we will soon start to see tonight's feature appearing on the radar. Kasim - which I have to say is a a top poster in here! - I'm sure will keep us in check in it's progression.

Selfishly I'm in Keswick so was the Euro4 projection as it looks like we will get some flakes at least. Will be nice to walk the lake tomorrow with a covering. Either way, good luck people.

Already quite a bit of shower activity, will be interesting to see if the hills kill it before it gets to us or not.

I wouldn't be so excited if I was them, there was one of these that corrected so far south it pasted the channel islands and north of france a while back.

Anyone - question one is do these get all the way across or die a death.

I wouldn't take too much notice of the met office or BBC hourly forecasts. I spend too much time myself fussing over them because last night was showing bone dry for parts of our region that got a covering of snow, think backtrack mentioned something similar. Sometimes these bands of precipitation can out fox supercomputers. Definitely a nowcast situation I reckon tonight.

Could even end up in the channel and miss everywhere altogether! If that's the case, protection will be advised if venturing into the mod thread on Wednesday as toys will be flying!
