I’ll be pleased to be suprised but all forecasts have showers going north of here and trough overnight lookslike going west of here... think it’s going to be cold icy frosty but not much in way of precipitation of the white variety...

currently 1.5c chilly breeze

Just in from a lovely walk along the Merseyside coast, not bitter but certainly fresh out there now. Best chance for any snow here will be early hours, it'll be marginal though lol.

Can't see there being anything here tonight. Looks like everything is conspiring against us now.

Showers getting more frequent here but a sleety mix rather than snow.

Frequent rain and sleet showers.

Temperature has dropped slowly through today, currently 2.2c.

Apologies for sounding like someone from the model thread but can I please have a southerly correction to the showers currently crossing the region as I’m irritatingly right at the bottom edge of the stream

I’m not being greedy, 20 miles will do fine

Radar flatters to deceive here, certainly not been frequent showers, very hit and miss which Irish sea showers tend to be, very little sun either so quite a drab day really.

You can see the feature in Western Scotland that is forecast for our area later but until winds go offshore(and I think we are talking early hours for this now) snowfall could be at a premium.

Straight westerly at the moment, so the showers at the moment are way up north of the region.  Until they get their North westerly component there wont' be any sprinkling in my backyard, but they are due sink southwards overnight.  Hardly thrill a minute at the moment.

Temperature up to 4/5 degrees now, so just rain in the odd shower, but its been quite dry last couple of hours. We should now see temps fall a bit ahead of the frontal feature. Snowline is about 400 metres.

Showers have been pretty much entirely of rain today, maybe the odd one you could optimistically call sleety. Snow line is almost bang on 300m. Seems to be quite a lot more snow towards Brough fells than around Hartside and further north. I’d be surprised to wake up to any snow cover tomorrow. I think it’ll be a combination of precipitation being too light and temperatures too marginal for anything to settle. C’est la vie.

Hmm, marginal = rain, or sleet/rain. Not expecting anymore than that.

Been a pleasant day in the south of the region. Plenty of sunshine, quite chilly. We will definitely need a change in wind direction for wintriness though at low elevations - on shore flow will almost guarantee rain whenever it decides to arrive.

Remember wind will be off-shore tonight as the frontal precip arrives which is always half of the battle won.
