BOOM!!!! Well chuffed for you all as I know just what South Cheshire has been like for snow for years!! Just message my mum to say a heavier belt is imminent too.

It’s been a long time coming mate believe me - off out with the dog in it now! ❄️☃️ 5-6cm now lying in Sandbach.

Winter wonderland outside with every twig and leaf covered. Very powdery snow. Just coming to the end now looking at the radar

This looks like the total amount here in Audenshaw. Not bad going as I'm only a few miles from Manc city centre.

Still a long way to go, am sure your chances will increase.... as to football, sorry can’t comment, the ONLY football game I have ever watched was in the film Escape to Victory, don’t even know the rules - we are all rugby and F1 with my family. Good luck with your football wish regardless.

Absolutely, a lot of the time it's all about luck & timing. I'm sure if that area of heavier precipitation had of been slightly further north then we may have been in business, not to be this time however not downbeat as this Winter looks full of chances.

Can't say I ever watch rugby or F1, football & fishing is more my thing.

More snow in Sale this morning, about 2cms worth, similar to the pictures in Audenshaw. Started at about 7am and now stopped. The radar was showing rain but it was definitely heavy snow for a short time!

fairly significant rain out there now, no sign of flakes at this point.

Though I do have things to do today, so if this rain could move on, that would be appreciated.

Stopped here now, without turning to rain. Another "better than all of last winter" covering.

It is rather wet underfoot, like a March snowfall of years gone by I think it will melt by lunchtime.

Very disappointing in North Merseyside after hovering around -0.5°C over night. Now 1.7°C and drizzling.

Easing off here now. Looks like it will clear through within the next 20 mins or so. Turned slightly sleety but no rain here fortunately.

I was going on the tops of walls observation!

Oh I see. Grass is better as there's been no wind. Good level snow indicator.

Dependable old Merseyside snow shield in operation! That said, looking at the model outputs, I'd be surprised if we didn't get some snow in the next few weeks.
