Snow flakes falling here in Macclesfield, but the ground is wet, no lying snow.  A different story on the hills though, when it's light enough to see.

Heavy again with big flakes. Thought it was ending but obviously not.

Its probably the best December snowfall here since Boxing Day night 2014, even back to December 2010

So odd, you are literally down the road and we got buried in 2010 and tonight don't even have a dusting, well just turning from wet to a near dusting last few mins but snow very light

Strange, I should probably go bed as I can't see much happening (another check out the window) looked so promising ha.

I think it has pretty much reached its furthest point N, maybe a few more miles but any snow will likely be light and not long lasting.

Get some kip.

Yeah looks like it’s not going anymore NE, I’m stuck on the edge with light sleet atm.

Thanks, maybe you will awaken to a surprise but If not hopefully you will get a good dumping of snow to make up for it in the coming days.

Its strange you can see it on the motorway cameras

Look at the M6 at Haydock

I think it looks as though it is turning slushy at Altrincham

Yeah looks proper snowy in some places and a dusting of slush in others.

I have had it where Stretford just 3 miles away has had a few inches and we have had rain and stretford is no way higher!

Well there are big flakes coming down now but not sticking, I think this is the most I can expect tonight. Perhaps something from the small feature tonight/tomorrow?

Very heavy now, I think the heaviest has been so far. Still struggling to stick but maybe just my garden.

Who writes the Met Office text forecasts?

Today:

After a frosty start, southernmost parts may see some wintry showers early on, these quickly clearing south leaving largely dry conditions. Further patchy showers are possible for eastern areas through the afternoon. Feeling cold. Maximum temperature 4 °C.

This was issued at 4am

Are you kidding me?

Good covering here in Sale South Mcr.. looks it’s pivoting in the area before leaving south in about an hour.. what a beautiful surprise

Embarrassing, that text forecast was in trouble almost 2 hours before issued. You only have to look at the radar and see what Liverpool airport was reporting  at 3am, yet it was issued.

Are these automated? A computer writes them and then it issued at 4am?

Well done to those in the West & South of the Region.
just a bit of wet snow for my area. Seems I was just a few miles to far North.
