Technically not winter weather though.

The timing might not have been but the weather certainly was.

It won't take much to make the roads treacherous as we've already seen...still waiting for my first precipitation depository since 9am this morning, but showers are now knocking on the door to the west.

Just to clarify. I’m not expecting any snow to fall within 15 miles of the coast or  below 50 m ASL from convective showers . The snow risk I refer to is exclusively from frontal precip.
Edit: stupid phone!

Yes caught in the crossfire it seems.

Morecambe Bay now becoming much more convective, can we grow our own streamer?

Down to 2.2°C now as temmp falls as expected.

Liverpool John Lennon airport  has a hail warning and a strong wind warning in force according to the ATIS that I can now receive here which is cool. TAF predicts rain and snow between 3–6 a.m.

Well - the oil heater in the outhouse back has gone up another notch  - nearly full blast so it must be chilly - I like to say I will be lampost watching but our nearest is half a mile away.

Good to see Blackburn doing well 17 miles away inland  - modest elevation means everything.

A couple of cells have developed around Llandudno and off the coast

Seems to be a bit of life in the Irish sea near liverpool. As the winds swing more west, I think a streamer will set up for a while.

Not a sneaky snifter of snow here, however the skies have cleared overhead so temp has dropped to 2.5° from 3.5° an hour ago.  No sign of any rain yet.  Some nice snow photos beng posted, pleased for those having a flurry.

We’re only a small country but a huge one when it comes to variations in weather.

Northern Ireland including Belfast now reporting heavy accumulating snow from the frontal band  - a good sign for sure... fingers crossed some of it makes it to us! ❄️❄️ 5586539D-6DC5-466E-BA61-9E5B5B305772.thumb.png.19f665475b989b62f296f0c2f366a0b6.png0918ED10-59E4-4EDB-A862-69FEFD8E58EE.thumb.jpeg.95eb3ce75ef60a337fb84536384d7eb3.jpeg
