You can use head and shoulders for that mate. I’ve heard Joe Hart uses it. Must be decent.

Ribblehead and Tan Hill got a bit of the white stuff overnight but the PPN just wasn't heavy enough for evaporative cooling anywhere south of Marsden, hopefully later on tonight and into tomorrow offers better odds for the Peak District.

Thanks for the link - excellent webcam  -  bookmarked

Wouldn't like to be out in that tonight - I'd be in the Railway Inn (if it was open and that's the travesty when it comes to any sort of rescue)  - fantastic open fire in there defrosted us many a time.

Sleety mix here on the Fylde at 3 deg no white stuff and I don't expect so will be watching the webcam instead

Moorside 300m

One of the best locations for snow in the area.

Not even sure what it’s doing down here in Newhey, it just looks cold and damp.

3.0C. Some signs of ice hitting the car window now, mixed in with the rain.

Cloud lifted for a short while to reveal snowy fells, snowline about 400 metres. Just on the edge of the precipitation at present, more snow for the fells, in any heavier stuff should get down to low levels as per this morning, whether see a cover remains to be seen.

Would be nice to wake up to a light cover, but it won't stick around, rain rather than snow tomorrow, but cold to boot. Indeed next few days will be cold temps hovering in the 4-6 degree max range, and lows close to or below freezing where it clears. Very seasonal start to winter 2020/21.

Radar has fells to the NE of Sedbergh and Kirkby Stephen in amongst it  Howgills - hopefully tops will look stunning in the morning.

Only noticed rain here so far no sleety mix, first time this year garden thermometer does not agree with tablet temp reading, thermometer 4°, tablet 2°.  At only 158m ASL, I'm not expecting anything, but hope to see a dusting on the distant hills at some point tomorrow.  Meanwhile I'll be keeping one eye on my lamp post.

I need to order a new weather station as mine packed up. Only problem is, it would be slightly pointless as I live in a terrace now. Artificial heating from all the houses would probably scupper any reading I get. What a shame. :(

3.0°C here and partially melted flakes appearing in the rain now. Precipitation getting quite heavy which will aid in evaporative cooling. Let’s see what happens. Also 3.1°C in Crosby but don’t know what precip  is like there.

Could do with the precipitation pepping up, barely any visible at present, hence no sleetiness even. Temperatures have been held at 3 degrees since lunchtime, perhaps will go down in the next hour or two.. but its slow going.

Its graudally turning wintry here. Seen some melted flakes landed on my window.

The flooding in the Middle East desert city of Dubai earlier in the week followed record-breaking rainfall.
