Storm has eased away now. Surely that's it for tonight now?

Agree, this is now probably now the best storm I have ever experienced in my 40 years. Two unbelievable cracks of thunder in the last 10 minutes! Astonishing.

Last night was the daddy for me, top notch.

Tonight has been 'meh' Never really got in the thick of it and a bit of a let down.

Yeah, seems to have burnt itself out a bit here now though. Just got moderate rain falling now with no thunder.

A few good rumbles of thunder here over the past 45 mins but nothing amazing. On the radar it looks like north Lancs is the sweet spot at the moment.

We didnt get overhead storms.. they continually died before they got here due to a lack of energy here. However it's a good job I have a top floor with a good view.. I managed to catch some lightning.

Could be round 2 here, frequent flashes and distant rumbles

Frequent flashes getting brighter and rumbles but its all to the west, would be a fantastic view sat on the beach though, dont have a very good view looking west here unfortunately.

Estofex have this part of the region down for risk of more storms today. The Metoffice say a fine summers day. I wonder who's right?

It makes the met office warnings look ridiculous. They must surely be modified accordingly today or maybe the convective forecasters are closer to the truth?

Well, the Metoffice text forecasts for the past couple of evenings have been way off the mark. Surely the warning for today will be removed for the region....?

I have to say, Arome did pretty well yesterday. I will be paying more attention to it from now on.

Our best chance for storms is likely to be Sunday & Monday when the pressure falls again from the south.

Saw some flashes late last night out to sea but wasn't very frequent or worth staying awake for, nice & sunny again today though so maybe we'll get lucky later

Appreciating the slightly fresher feel to the weather today, after yesterday's hot and humid feel.  Feels like being let out of the greenhouse.  Showers will probably stay well to the south today.  The winds are slight N/NE.

Well last night was horrible. Didn’t get to sleep till 4 am because of the heat.  Had the bedroom window open but didn’t do anything to decrease the temperature until very late in the night, but shared my room last night with millions of bugs as they are attracted to the indoor light. Not pleasant being attacked by moths when you’re trying to get to sleep!

It was 25°C last night in my bedroom by the way, and it was way too hot for sleeping, I dread to think what it would be like down in the south east...

This morning is a different story though. There is a lovely strong easterly breeze now.  Heaven!   Got all the windows open and it’s already down to 23°C in the bedroom. Shouldn’t have any problems sleeping tonight.

Absolutely steamy here. Top temp supposedly 26°C but the humidity is making it feel like 90+.

Good storms last night. They developed right overhead in a matter of 20 minutes with very frequent ? and thunder.
