All the action is in the West Midlands, Birmingham and the south of the region tonight. Nothing anywhere else though. And unusually the south-east has done very poorly for thunder this time, and ironically, they’re the ones who need a thunderstorm the most, to cool thing down.

Just been out in the garden in just shorts, a t-shirt and a pair of sandals. It still feels so warm out there. It’s the warmest I’ve ever known it at this time, currently 22° with 80% humidity but it feels more like 27, probably down to the high humidity making it feel warmer than it actually is.

Definitely windier than last night. I know this because I'm getting wetter by the minute at my window vantage point with the rain being swept in!

Just had to nip out and rescue the cat and it doesn't seem to be cooling down the rain felt like you were in a warm shower

Longest duration storm I can remember here. Still rumbling away after 3 hours and still heavy to torrential rain at times. Have I been lucky enough to be under an MCS for the first time I can remember?

Was just going to post the same just coming up to the 3 hour and still frequent lightning and rumbles of Thunder.not just insane for the UK but for this part of the region I certainly don't remember anything like it and I'm knocking on to my half century

Just started chucking it down here! Sudden gusty winds with distant rumbles of thunder now a monsoon downpour in progress.

Agree, this is now probably now the best storm I have ever experienced in my 40 years. Two unbelievable cracks of thunder in the last 10 minutes! Astonishing.

Properly coming down now, this feels far more like a normal if very prolonged storm. Enjoying it, some proper thunder and lightening but last night was something else here, very little rain relatively but energy wise amazing.

We've taken over the north-west regional thread. Perhaps they should rename it?

A few flashes of lightning and rumble or two...steady rain...all a bit pedestrian but even feeding off the scraps is better than nothing.  It's also cooler at the back door than in the bedroom.
