To get storms here we need them to develop locally.. they simply won't survive the journey up from their starting point otherwise.

That's the cell to the West of me. Constant rumbling and developing overhead now as well.

Constant distant rumblings for last hour from all parts south and southwest from here. Like a far away battle field   Large anvil came up from south half an hour agp and has spread cloud all over now.  Previously had plenty of clear sky most of the day.

light rain from a decaying cell, which I think is curtains for us here. I was quite optimistic about today, because the potential is there, but the CAPE isnt here on the coast (as per the GFS forecasts). It's turned increasingly cool now, currently 19C.. so I think again fog is not out of the question.

I think further east is where needs watching.. even the stuff over Wales is struggling to ignite. A line east of Helsby to Lancaster I think is where the best storms will be, along with a line south of say Whitchurch.

Arome has been doing a good job this week in my opinion.

Lol! Surely not! Sky is turning darker and darker in most directions with almost constant rumbling. No lightning seen yet.

Sky to my SE now. Was clear in that direction half hour ago or so. Cells firing rapidly.

I've looked in snapchat map for Wigan and the streets are turned into little rivers!

The wind has picked up rain in the air feeling something is going to go flash bang very soon.

This is the Northwich cell which is darkening skies to the west of Macclesfield.  There's a long line of turreted ACcas to my east.  There's clustered ACcas with darkening skies behind.  There's development all around.
