Thats the best thunderstorm ive ever witnessed, by some distance aswell! Constant thunder, flashes every 2 seconds with some nice cg strikes and some monsoon like rain, for about 90 minutes! Absolutely EPIC! Well happy with that.

It's been such a strange year blizzards at Christmas would not surprise me.

Enjoy the storm.

Looks like all the action is going to be in the Sea

Good.

It can stay there

Like it is doing now. Spectacular looking toward W and Blackpool.

Was stood in awe looking out the window for about 90 minutes straight, some really close strikes aswell and shotgun thunder, really wasnt expecting it to be that potent. Probably a 1 in 50 year storm for around here id imagine.

Just seen another flash after it had stopped for a while.

Just been watching it for the last hour, light everywhere strobing, constant flashes, absolutely brilliant show only thing I could ask for was some CG strikes as it seemed to be all in cloud but I'm not complaining, I loved it, still going off now but not as frequent

Had constant flashes here for the last 2 hours what a show. Had some torrential hail about 45 mins ago and some lovely overhead bolts.

Now watching it move away and seeing the flashes lighting up the clouds.

Looks like more development to the south, maybe impacting more central parts of the region. Will have to see if it develops or fizzles out.

Edit: Weird strobe lightning here. No rain or thunder but near constant elevated flashes. Very weird.

Yes same here. No thunder, no rain, no forked lightning but near constant sheet lightning/flashes. The breeze has increased and I can even see a few breaks in the clouds. It's been like this for the past hour.

Very strange, not seen anything like it before.

I would prefer a classic thunderstorm with a rumble followed by a flash a few seconds later, with some forked lightning mixed in, but a good lights show nonetheless and better than nothing.

Could hear a deep rumble of thunder from the cell near Knutsford/Wilmslow. At least 15 miles from here as the crow flies.

Occasional lightning and distant booms of thunder here which woke me about 20 mins ago.
