A disappointingly dull afternoon here. But at least it's warm & feels like Summer instead of Autumn like July did.

Strange that. Still plenty of sunshine here just up the road from you. Guess I must’ve just got really lucky today!

Been cloudy here for the last hour so you are doing well and the radar is showing  patchy rain around East Lancs and West Yorkshire.

Looks like my luck has finally ran out, completely cloudy here now. Unfortunately I missed my chance to get a suntan in the garden.

Warm and humid feeling today...50/50 split on sunny & cloudy spells...suns blazing as I type now but strangely there are speckled bits of blue on the raindar...

Yes it’s been very strange how the sunshine/cloud has been distributed across the region today, with some places having a mostly cloudy day but go 10 miles up the road and it’s cracking the flags.

It was sunny earlier here but the cloud has arrived now.

Another fairly meh day here in S Cheshire characteristic of the dry days this summer to be honest some warm sunny spells but largely a lot of cloud. Feeling muggy but not overly humid with hazy sunshine into this evening. Came out at 25-26c around 3pm. Good enough weather though for garden cocktails & a BBQ We might not have the tropical heat of down south but the NW/ W Midlands might well be in the sweet spot for any storms early-mid week!  ⛈

Was cloudy an hour ago and it felt much cooler but now the cloud has shifted and the sun is back out again, feels much warmer. Reached around 23°C here so still pleasantly warm.

Sunny end to the day here as well but it’s a shame

that cloud ruined what would have been the warmest part of the day.

Far short of what out friends darn sarf have been having but not a bad day in the end and certainly good enough for my first sitting outside with a beer pub trip since before lockdown.

hopefully a decent day tomorrow and we can be the sweet spot for the storms next week although no doubt the weather god  will have plans to spoil that.

Did someone forget to order a heatwave for our region.

wall to wall cloud and a strong gusty easterly wind making it look and feel anything but summery.

never mind, at least it’s hot, hot, hot darn sarf.

I'm more than happy for the South to bake, they're welcome to it! At least we have decent potential for storms later today and onwards this week. Hopefully some good night time light shows to come this week.

Yes, things are looking pretty promising for the coming days. I wonder if we are going to see something as good as that thundery week in June!

Our region looks to be well placed for storms over the next few days, starting tonight. It was a cracking spell for storms in June. It would really be the icing on the cake for this summer to get further storms this week. Makes a nice change for things not to be shunted East. It would be nice if this is a pattern that continues in future years.

Yes, nothing worse than seeing the activity missing us to the East.

Our reason is a disaster for snow so let's at least benefit from summer storms!

The met office should update their warnings shortly, so will be interesting to see their take on the storm potential for tonight.

The updated euro 4 is a peach! It shows activity in our region from 2am onwards, with a crescendo of activity late afternoon to early evening tomorrow.
