Was awoken by a half decent storm early this morning, lasted for about an hour, id say there was about 30 rumbles and flashes, no where near as active as the i.o.m storm but cant complain as its the first storm of the year.

21c and heavyish showers to 27c and steamy within an hour...(3c warmer than bbc forecast)  blue skies hot sun and ground dried up

No storms here a bit of rain on trailing back edge....complete clearance now sunny skies all the way to Jodrell Bank...still a lot of heat still left in the day

Turning hot again out there. The radar looks dead to the south. Hopefully as the afternoon progresses we'll see some development.

Sky was virtually cloudless not so long ago. Now cumulus clouds are readily bubbling up.

29.8c here I’m not sure whether to expect anything here in Liverpool, the other day it was forecast widespread thunderstorms to maybe the odd thunderstorm to today’s forecast

Some convection but the clouds are moving north/northeast rather fast. I think this set up will benefit the north Pennines, Yorkshire and northeast England later.

Stunning cell towards Sheffield. Sadly I can't see Manchester getting anything this afternoon as the wind direction is pushing the best cells away. East of the Pennines is the place to be today

Think this might be a setup more for East/North East parts of England.... a few clouds bubbling up here but nothing happening.  Very quickly developing situation though, all hell breaking loose in Sheffield just now and yet 30 minutes ago diddly squat on the radar.

Agree with the above, definitely for here at least. Everything looks to be North and East of here. East and North of Manchester may get lucky still.

Yes keep the faith...tiny spec on radar just spawned near Stockport...15 minutes later and it's giving a short sharp burst of rain here in Oldham west.  No T&L though yet.

This setup has delivered for Manchester in the past, but not until nightfall. This, last July:

Sun broke out early this afternoon then has a thundery shower with heavy rain for 10 minutes and a few rumbles.

 

EDIT: Getting another shower now, no thunder as of yet.

 Some dark clouds overhead but no thunder. All the action seems to be around Leeds and Sheffield area.
