Rain as we came through Manc yo the M6, but skies have cleared in Blackpool to give a lovely hot day......looks dark to the East over the hills  however.

Confidence rising now for a significant warm up this week. A hot 27 or 28C possible across southern parts of the region on Wednesday. How long this heat lasts who knows. Thursday at the least still looks very warm across the southern part of the region.

Classic NW-SE divide at play today. We've been plagued by overcast skies and bits of rain off and on. Rain has set in more persistently last three hours. A dank drab uninspiring day.

Tomorrow will be better after a drizzly cloudy start. Looking forward to Wednesday which promises to be a very warm sunny dry day.

Just cut the lawn and I feel like boil in the bag veg. If this is 25/26°C then tomorrow and Thursday are going to be very uncomfortable indeed.

A slow start, light rain this morning, temps 18 degrees at noon, cloud broke by late afternoon boosting temps, so unusually the max came about 7pm at 21 degrees.

Two very warm days ahead, possibility might scrape 28 degrees which in average year is about the highest max we can expect all year.

Come Friday, bang thunder, much cooler by Saturday

A short sharp burst of heat.

Call me a grump but I'm already too hot and bothered! Got my vitamin D for the day putting the washing out on the line. Every sympathy for those in central London. Heading to our North facing room.....aah bliss

Big ranges in maximum temperatures forecast for today when I was watching the ITV Granada weather last night.  29°C forecast for Burnley and Cheshire, Isle of Man... 19°C! More cloud forecast for there too, unbroken sunshine forecast for land.

Of course the Isle of Man will always be cooler during hot weather as it is a small island surrounded by water, however I didn’t realise the maritime influence would have that much of an affect!

Think 29c will be passed already 25.3c here and yet to reach the hottest point 30c could well be breached come 1500hrs

I’m with you. 25°C is about my limit for heat.   Isle of Man must be a paradise for heat haters.. As it’s only forecast to reach a measly 19°C there today. With more cloud as well… ☁️ St Bees also forecast to only reach 19°C today, though with clear blue skies... ☀️ Though 26°C forecast there for tomorrow due to a change in the wind direction from SSW to SE. Could be some good thunderstorms on Friday. Then all change from Saturday into next week with a return to the much cooler, fresher, breezy, showery westerly winds. ? Maxima returning to the high teens Celsius, mid teens celcius maxima for St Bees..

Just reached 28c here.

I’m not expecting 30c to be reached IMBY but it’s easily my warmest day of the summer so far and every chance that tomorrow could be even hotter.

It's currently 29.7°C according to my garden thermometer and 28°C according to the iPhone weather app. Too hot for me! Melting in this heat!

Shed is even hotter, feels like an oven!

Edit: Just put my thermometer in the shed, it's now showing 35°C!

Wish I was in St Bees... 22°C there, much more comfortable conditions.

29.5c Lovely gotta appreciate it, only lasting couple of days ☀️

I know but we're not used to it up here!

Was sat outside in deckchair but had to go in because I just got too hot. Sweating like crazy. There was a slight breeze but not enough to offset the hot sun and high temperature.

Im definitely gonna move to an island or the coast when I'm older. Weather is so much more temperate by the sea.
