Glad some of you are getting storms! It’s been frustrating for us in Saddleworth see the showers develops just a few miles further on, it’s mostly been dry this week here.

Crazy what a difference a few miles can make! It is torrential here! Very frequent thunder too. It seems to be backbuilding on the radar so you may still get it.

Hopefully it will intensify mate. It is mainly to the north and east of me now but still raining with frequent thunder. I can see brighter skies to the south.

Looks like another Thunderstorm devoloping south of Stoke

Both the euro 4 and GFS show the activity continuing well into the night so hopefully plenty more fun to come.

It just shows how only a few miles can make a huge difference in these situations. We just seemed to scrape into the torrential rain & frequent thunder here even had some hail too. Relative in Denshaw said it was bone dry!

Some of the lighting and thunder is amazing right now!

The rain has just stopped here but the thunder is still loud. The storm is clearly back building

Still thunder from the north, and the sun has come out again.

Dry and sunny here but some amazing cloud formations and very dark down towards Manchester way.

How's the setup for this evening, any reason to prefer lancs or Cheshire gap tonight?

Low rumbles of thunder to the south of us here in South Cheshire looks nasty over Shropshire/ Stoke and North Staffs again looks like it’s all moving north ⛈

Just started raining here but looking at the radar it’s a rogue shower with most of the activity still about 10 miles to my south and west.

TBH after yesterday’s mopping out I’m happy with missing the heaviest of the rain but I would like to see a decent thunderstorm to add to yesterday’s funnel cloud.

Definately all the action is to the south of the region and earlier today up in Cumbria whilst here it's been a day of white skies, no real cumulus cloud, very little sunshine and now a bit of rainfall from a shower that just looks sorry for itself.

Although I never expected any storms, I thought I would see a better convective sky at least once the most and murk cleared but it never happened sadly.

You can never say never but doubtful I will see anything now.

Finally joined the party with that 4pm spell of thunder activity...didn't see any lightning but heard the rumbles of thunder, very heavy rain.. bullseye for Oldham Central/South - Eastern fringes of the North West still waiting for the invite, but looking at the radar and the next few days I'd be surprised if you didn't get a chance of seeing something.
