Pretty wild out there had some wind gusts that were at least 40mph. Torrential hail blown around by the wind and constant loud booms and the odd flash.

Showers seem more prone to hit coastal parts today. One or two sharp ones SW Cumbria. Warm one maxing out at 23 degrees. Still to hit 25 degrees this season. Early next week looks good for heavy thunder showers.

A couple of photo stills from video footage I took last night here in Maghull. Epic storm.

We watching lightening maps. Seems to be swinging in towards soithport

It was just to the South of us, was great to watch and see the clouds being lit up, perfect timing at night as well much better than the one we had overhead earlier, very rare to get to see 2 storms in one day as well

Could be more over the next few days too, especially Tuesday.

Looks like we won’t get any thunderstorms again here. Pennines ripping them to shreds.

We were on the very northern edge of it.  Not much in the way of thunder and lightening but it absolutely hammered it down!

It's a bit early to call it a bust. Fingers crossed, for me too.

Hi all, it’s nice to see you guys in the Northwest getting some action, some of us in the Midlands got our dose yesterday....which was great for once, it makes a change as our fellow southerners normally get the pick of the ⚡⚡⚡⚡️....Boooo!!! ENJOY

Not a bad day really weatherwise just spits of rain this evening. But on my doorstep is Daisy Nook country park which was trashed by druggies & other vermin attending a "rave" last night. Some lad even died of an overdose. I was among the many who did litter picking today.

Heard about that...it's the state they leave it in that rubs me up the wrong way especially in such a nice, nature friendly area.  My cycle rides & previous dogs walks usually take me into Park Bridge, Medlock Valley, Daisy Nook area's so know the area well.  Well done do you and the volunteers for cleaning up the mess they left behind.

Felt about 10 spots of rain yesterday evening and again this evening, for once Wigan was in the right place weather wise

re the Rave, if the police make them to leave, how are they supposed to clean up the mess ? Ideally the police would make them clean up the mess before sending them on their way but this isn't a world where common sense is prevalent, otherwise there wouldn't even be a rave amidst a supposedly deadly and contagious virus, it's all madness

The irony of it all is these youngsters are often the ones who bleat about the environment. Yet leave a ton of rubbish behind. I think they like to jump on the trendy bandwagon to seem goody goody rather than truly believing in the cause. Rant over haha.

Another weather warning for thunderstorms. I wonder if it will be third time lucky for me? We've missed even the rain.
