Think its touch and go anywhere but i think we will mostly get showers down here with the odd flash maybe.

Yeah, all the showers tend to decay after Plymouth

Got all my fingers crossed south for South East Midlands (south Northamptonshire) slight slight chance they will make it here.

I like the sound of option 2 and i'm thinking myself to hit Gloucester a little later and see what starts to initiate in hope it starts around south maybe London and then have a bit more of an idea to push on North.

It's still a risk nothing will happen as there is so much disagreement between the models, standard fair for UK storms unfortunately.

with the welsh border how do you think we feel mate lol, I cant go chasing due to mr drakeford  but im not sure how storms will go today

Wales in general should be in a good spot today for some storm action but not being able to chase must be frustrating

Agreed, one of the most accurate forecasters there is for sure. And I am not just saying that because he is a member on here

Really quite humid here now, and things are still brewing up to my south east. :oldgood:

It's bad enough inside the house! Just nipped down shop to get some milk, and it's just feels so sticky and muggy.  Felt like I was trying to breath water instead of air >.<

One thing, I wish I was storm chasing in Germany today, they’ve got mothership CB’s going up all over! You’d be spoilt for choice. Plus with the Autobahns and more vastness, I bet it’s a brilliant place to chase in.

Some dark clouds looming in north of Swansea but I doubt we’ll get anything here.  Anyone think differently??

I am checking on sat24 , there seems to be a nice patch of cloud free sky to the East of Southampton, which may allow for some heating , but here in Wales, it's a bit of a struggle to feel that.
Skies are starting to dark in places but there's little towering currently

A little later in the day, perhaps things will explode into life,. but i'm not feeling it right now hehe

I looked at Dan's & Nick's forecasts... hmm. Any cumulus here is towering sideways and the air feels fairly dry.  I don't really think the SE is on for anything, even should more moist air come in.

I often grumble about the "Thames Estuary High" but it's something I've noticed for years now. The city and the estuary seem to generate their own dry zone like a semi-permanent wedge of high pressure cap over the area. I suspect it is the arc of low hills surrounding the capital north, west and south.

It will be in effect today.  (It's my theory and I'm sticking to it  )

My take is activity in the west country today and evening.

Enjoy it down there!

West seems to be mentioned a lot. Draw a line up the spine of the UK and west of that it’s moderate, low risk to the east

west is best

east is lol
