New cells developing near/over London heading NW?

Yes been a bit unlucky here in LB since Saturday last. The last few days they have all tracked to the west - out of NW London and up through Aylesbury, or up the M1 through Luton then MK.

Hmm looks like activity now decreasing to the south, Stoke area looks well placed again mind!

No direct hit for me but what a hectic day, who's ready to do it all again tomorrow?!

A few little cells sparking up close to Notts. Worth keeping an eye on.

Had some mist and low cloud come in earlier scuppering views but it's clearing up overhead so hopefully some distant lightning soon

Ooo, could I be in for another light show? A few heavy showers are popping up to my south.

The Salisbury cell not even kind enough to give me one solitary distant flash

You see videos of CB’s just like that in places like Florida kicking out hundreds of bolts.

Confirmed now that it was a Tornado near to Glossop with a few roof tiles damaged which I managed to capture earlier on this afternoon, looking north towards it here from Whaley Bridge I could see there was some rotation to it, but very short lived.

Obscured by muck from the East now, but I suspect it is.

Certainly looks like it is on the radar

Videoing the cell that came over from Sheffield showed similar.

I'll try and process the footage tomorrow.

Horncastle cell seems to be dying now, no doubt undercut by the cold N Sea onshore breeze. Oh well tomorrow is another day but this has been the story of the week... Night night!

Of course not! Here’s hoping we get something a little better and closer to home over the next couple of days.

LB trying to do it's best storm avoidance again - pushing them away towards Aylesbury and Luton. Been like this for the last few days.

Has been a pretty interesting few days, especially for those in the Midlands area (including myself). Some thunder on Saturday. And then quite a naughty thunderstorm today, which mostly rumbled on and off to the South-West, and then an area which exploded into life over here from the East-South-East. Big downpour of rain, hail and frequent thunder and lightning for a time. Rain and hail became like a monsoon at one point!

Some building convection earlier in the afternoon (Eastern Solihull),

Mainly video stills. For a storm, would give it an 9/10. Actually feel like for some, this year has already been more decent, thunder-wise, compared to last year. And to think we’re still in June!

Any chance of those showers around North London into the Northern Home counties electrifying?

The upper steering winds have a more Westerly flow to them compared to those further North.
