Developments over the chalky downs again! An early start today.

Overnight mist/low cloud now burning off here. A good 2 hours earlier than yesterday too. Good signs. Dewpoints are a notch higher today also.

Today I chase

On a job near Bedford which should be done late morning then I'm good for wherever I need to head, vans fully fueled  and stocked and I'll be out for the duration.

Just treated myself to the netweather extra package so all the info I need

Thinking I'll head to the leicester area as the set up (convergence zone) seems very similar to yesterday, and follow them north

Good luck everyone

I was thinking of heading to Leicester too. Down in Kent at the moment (!!!) so need to try and get oop north as soon as I can, but don’t think I’ll be anywhere useful until about 4pm ☹️

Loads of convection going on here, was completely clear an hour ago. Guessing they are going to ignite as soon as they get past London

Had just noticed the same thing @Oliver Wyndham-lewis - lots of surface based instability visible.

Already some cloud bases turning quite dark and think I can see some big towers. Something definitely brewing

Nice to see I am in the MDT zone from Dan today. However, not sure about staying put today after what happened yesterday. Eventually I did get to see a storm near to Coalville/Ibstock but it was dying shortly after I caught it. If today is going to be like yesterday then I fancy somewhere like Cheshire may be a good bet. Having said that, by evening time most models have heavy precipitation directy over my house.

Thunderstorms are a certainty today, but where they occur is the conundrum I face.

I have a feeling we are gonna get something in the SE. Showers already getting going further south near the coast moving north very very slowly

Nice Towers in exactly the same place as yesterday eg around Ashford way, would expect sea breeze to nullify this again and Storms in almost the exact same place as yesterday.

SE turn tomorow and Thursday but even now models dont look that good

I think I need to sign out of this thread for a while as it does my mental health no good.

No snow in winter, no storms in summer - might actually be a contender for most boring climate on earth in my little part of England.
