Thought I might go on a drizzle chase, it's about as good as it's ever going to get.....

Just when I was about to go to sleep, a heavy shower has developed north of Guildford.

Also, a nice dollop of rainfall incoming for the COS!

Has humididty noticeably shot up anywhere else in the last ten minutes, feel like I've put the heating on all of a sudden.

Van was saying 16°c when I got home earlier. Was walking about in just a shirt and it didn’t feel particularly cold. Suddenly feeling warmer, but I think that’s because I just ate a pizza

Just ruminating over the rain radar and I have a horrible feeling the Friday trough for SE England is going to be north of London all night and into tomorrow. It is heading that way already. The pressure charts and Weather Warning have it too far south.

Here in my personal high pressure zone I'll be lucky to see one heavy shower on Thursday.  Hmmm.

I was going to say I guess these are false but looking at the radar maybe they're not

I don’t think they are false, I think I just heard something in the distance...

Blitzortung show them...

Stuff seems to be building explosively in the trough. Some people will enjoy a rumble or two!

Actually turned out to be pretty accurate. Some good steady rain.  Not a sniff of any lightening. On the whole Dark Sky is pretty good with rain forecasting.

A close up of it`s Roll/ wall cloud, which was rotating as it loomed over the city

working on a time lapse

Was that Tuesday's evening storm? I was stood in the middle of those tall buildings, getting drenched!  Definitely a better view of the wall cloud than the ones I took from underneath it.

205 pages, wow. Not bad for just 17 days but not surprising considering the amount of convective activity over the past few days. However, time for a new thread so locking this one now.

New thread here:

I'm calling the Met Office out on their thunderstorm weather warning.  Drizzle, yes. Rain, yes, showers, yes.  Storms? Hmmmmmm.
