With the high clouds, not really expecting much to go off, but this one has been growing just South of Coventry and has the bulk and height to keep going.

Such a shame we have the sea breeze off the Bristol Channel here in Cardiff, wouldve seen some lovely thunderstorms the past few days! Hoping today there is a bit more instability further up to hold the storms as they cross over..

Can anyone explain why the sea breeze is causing the thunderstorms to dissipate?

So thunderstorms still failing to cross the Bristol Channel however conditions seem to be right here for convection and we have created some thunderstorms to the north with some rumbles of thunder heard

I think things will kick off soon in NW England. Suddenly feels right. Also if WRF is right it is around this time the sea-breeze should dissipate and  veer round to the nne.

Temperatures are still high too. Watching the showers developing over cheshire at the moment. Did you see that the positive cg in yesterdays storm struck a house in Thingwall

No I didn’t know that. That was a beast of a strike. Would not like to be in that house. An ordinary CG would be bad enough.

Set the roof on fire unfortunately. There were pictures of the strike and the aftermath on social media this morning.
