Not really expecting any further storms for the rest of today in the south. It's been quite overcast here for a while now and even feels quite chilly too.

Hope I am wrong though.

Agreed , it feels much less humid than before we had the rain shower earlier , overcast skies , not confident about anything here ....

I’m out of the no storms club after being sat underneath a cell at kingsclere. Torrential rain and fairly frequent thunder and lightning. Drove to Whitchurch to get out from underneath it and get a better view of the cell over Basingstoke way but as soon as I got here there was one CG, one loud boom and then it blew itself out. Standard.

very disappointing here again today, distant rumbles but no direct hit, forecast does not give us much hope either

Disappointing here too. We had a faint rumble from a shower further north earlier. Apart from that nothing. Last chance tommorow although it looks rather poor again

Bristol’s storm shield is finally crumbling.  Thunder become frequent now with heavy rain and gusty winds.  Not visually seen any lightning yet.

Oh great looks like drizzlefest is making its way up the estuary for a misty murky evening. More substantial echoes heading towards East Anglia  atm

Not even a light shower here but I refuse to loose hope for later this evening and maybe the odd thundery shower tomorrow. There’s still time.

If only it was moving North East, feels humid here but rather cloudy. Nottingham seems to be getting a good storm though. Wonder if next weeks heat will bring anything

as the legend that was 'mr-crazy-snowfan' would say....'lots of rumblies of thunders here' (you have to have been on here for years to know what I'm on about !)....nothing overhead, but plenty of deep growls to my NE over Swindon from the cells training SE/NW over berks/wilts/glos

In the Luuuuuutons massif!

Some stunning structures in the skies today but alas, nothing is going pop.

What I would give to hear just 1 rumble of thunder, Reading all the posts and feels like everyone’s rubbing it in! Can’t believe some are disappointed in ‘only’ having 1 storm, Oh well now it’s beer time.

First rumble of the day, cells down towards Much Wenlock been building for 20 mins and just went electrical... bonus!

Yep - shame there doesn’t seem to be much behind it.  We’ve just missed quite a few storms in the last few days with them either fizzling a few miles east (yesterday) or tracking a few miles north of us.  Hopefully more in store for later....

Aye indeed - you’ve had some spectacular cloud formations your way @Zak M. Noctilucent the other night, awesome storm images today and now asperatus...you have not done badly at all!

Behaving like a shower, fading away slowly, just made everything damp again, i'll be surprised if any break this evening locally, out once this rain has passed, though yesterday's would be difficult to beat.

Met office radar showing more torrential downpours moving in across the SE and London before midnight prior to the arrival of the thundery rain from Belgium/france so

Indeed, not sure what to think about it. MetO, WRF-NMM, ARÔME, Euro4 and NetWx all suggesting discrete cell development around the London area from around 21z...that’ll be interesting given the crudfest we have at the moment.

Sure I've just heard a very distant rumble of thunder from the South East here in Macclesfield.

Yeah, there’s been a lot of beefy looking clouds around today that have done absolutely nothing.
