This thundery mess slowly clearing now. Discouraged by the mess encroaching from the channel right now

Yep would have done much better if it built over land then came over, but unfortunately it's trying to build right on the coast, then looses it's strength over the water straight away, would have been great if the channel and North Sea were not there.

Clouds ominously building to my South East... looks like I'm going to get hit again with some decent storms. Looking juicy out there

I'm going to be positive, for once, and say the latest AROME run looks good, well, REALLY good, for at least my part of CS England:

Tonight and tomorrow, times top right

EURO4 is also really nice, but focus on West Country, W Dorset into SE Wales.

Just looking at the radar and movement over the last two hours and there are a few things of note.

The first is that Birmingham is probably going to get hammered for hours given the movement today and a more n-s orientation to convection.

The second is that the lower half of the M1 is probably going to be chock a block with potential flooding if the current convergence sticks around.

Precipitation is building to the east much better today. Nottingham, Sheffield and potentially Leeds have a much better chance today of showers more often (granted the lower 2 had beauties yesterday).

Agree with that, though there are cells south of Birmingham now that are going to slide past and give people to the west something of note too hopefully.

Any chance of the South West storm to start producing lightning again?

Cell near Ringwood has reinvigorated - hoping the Petersfield one can follow it's example.

Alas, it appears to have done the opposite of course! Little glob going up over Ludgershall way. Doesn't look much from the window.

Kingsbridge has finally joined the action!

OK, a solitary rumble but huge raindrops for a good 10min or so. Developed out of nowhere in a matter of minutes. Wonder what else today has lined up for us...

Yes, I'd imagine the later we go on today the more north Wales and Manchester will come into play.

For the eastern cities mentioned the convection is forming east further north than Nottingham so they will be guaranteed later on. Just need it to form north of Lincoln for myself.
