Definitely feel like it's a waiting game for CS England into the West Country/Midlands/SE Wales. Yesterday saw 2 "rounds" of storms, so hopefully we can initiate a few more after this first round. Also last few days lightning activity has peaking mid-evening so we have a long long way to go yet today.

rogue sferic near Petersfield - not sure if a false return - nothing on the rainfall radar?

edit: Was a false return. Something going up near Ringwood?

Pretty disappointing here so far, few rumbles but main part of the storm behind me over Central London.  Looks like a bit of rain incoming which should help the brown grass at least.

Monsoon rain here for the past half an hour. Cell keeps back building right over here. Can also confirm lightning now although not that frequent

Ppn building through NE London again, sun is breaking through again too and temp is rising along with dp (15.9c)..hopefully that can inject enough moisture and instability into anything that crosses overhead from now

This thundery mess slowly clearing now. Discouraged by the mess encroaching from the channel right now

A tiny little radar return over ringwood, hants now, corresponds well with my view of some increasingly deep Cu north of me!

There is some rain building near petersfield, we have about 2 hours before storms start to die off

Yes I see that on the radar - the sky is just way too messy and ragged today - I personally can't see anything happening. At the very least I was hoping something would go off to the North East like yesterday so I could drive out to some good views near Whitchurch/Kingsclere, but I can't even see that happening right now.

Small cell now on petersfield if it can extend more east we would be in the firing line
