A hive of activity from Ashford drawing a line towards Bedford, extremely fast build up.

Flipping heck Benny.

Its belting down again!! The wind is our friend today, with the showers developing on Dartmoor and circulating down towards us!

I’m in Bristol, just over the river, and it’s full on overcast here.  Not got the same feeling about it as yesterday did.

If you have a good view, keep an eye toward your SE (30mins-45mins) , the cloud formations appear to be changing into something more like yesterday

I do love the weather in the UK. I’ve been very jealous of the Midlands and NW having all the storms the last few days, praying they could form near me in London. Now at last we have some storms as I’m about to start a round of golf! I’ll wear some rubber shoes just in case...

Not that I’m being fussy of course

Are we in with a chance up this way again today?

Probably? Hopefully? we are in the warning zone and all the basic ingredients are there  And the GFS06z is showing around 800/900j/kg of cape around 6pm.  Us Stokies are probably in for another midnight storm >_>

I'm also hoping that with the main warning are being further south that it'll give any storm that does bubble up enough time to build into something that can make it over the southern tip of the Pennines.  I think that's what been scuppering our chances up here with the storms just not getting enough oomph to them before hitting the foothills

All we can do really is cross our fingers and hope the random storms popping up will aim at us

Couple of showers over the Kent and Sussex Weald getting stronger, drifitng NW towards London - temperature already hitting 24C in the City, UHI will help boost convection and to become thundery.

Lots of good insolation here. 20.8°C.

WRF is still crazy for today.

Pretty impressed how a heavy shower has formed SW Bristol despite the icky high cloud
Seems like the high cloud is trying to hold the stormy lions in their cage

Think it's going to be a bit of a non starter for us today.

And as for tomorrow,  it's looking wet, and that's about it.

Don’t fret. Yesterday the warning didn’t cover my immediate area and no forecast or app showed anything for the evening however a sudden storm developed after 20.00 causing local flooding.
