Just had quite a loud thunder crack amongst the more muffled rumbles. Plenty of lightning too as well as absolutely torrential downpours, which has eased slightly now.

Pretty big storm here about an hour ago. The rain was torrential and counted about 20 lightening strikes that were about a mile away (some were much closer). Some pretty impressive thunder too.

That was one of the best storms i have seem for a few years. Hows every one else doing?

Still waiting for mine they've been going past just a few miles to the SW and NE of me all day, Fingers crossed that the big stuff down at Birmingham makes it up here!

Thought it was moving away a moment ago. Now rain has reintensified and lightning started again after a short break.

Meh! I try and get my 7 year old interested in weather. Sadly we live in Telford. We have been extremely unlucky the past couple of days!

Nice cg + thunder I captured earlier - you can see where it struck. Camera is a bit low res but it's weather proof, crucially!

Some really nice convection here. No where storm or even rain but still impressive.

This is now all all too familiar situation, we have intense storms to the south, will they survive or won't they?!

It’s right on the door step to you looking at radar but it’s decaying. Hard lines fella.

I have been out and chased some good storms last three days. If you can get 20 miles out of town you could have seen a fair bit. Newport has a hammering each day this week so far. Also stuff down in Bridgenorth. We had a direct hit last night too.

best bet get up the Wrekin. You can see the lot from their.

Managed to at least hear some deep rumbling from a storm that got close enough passing east of me towards Essex . One of the few that formed here in the SE today

Quick development on the edge of Salisbury Plain. One flash and rumble so far. Nocturnal cooling playing it’s part?

Just worked my train from Lichfield down here to Bromsgrove. Dry at Lichfield but could hear a lot of loud thunder, then into a lot of thunder and lightning around Sutton Coldfield. Got absolutely soaked on the platform at Aston. And now a lovely evening in Bromsgrove. Waiting for my next departure back up to Lichfield. Let's see what it brings!
