A lot of the North West has done well out of this spell - we haven't had a direct hit but Saturday's storm was pretty close and still produced the best lightning I've seen in a very long time. We've had lot's of convection and thunder every day now for 4 days. It feels like our usual crap climate has been replaced by an exciting tropical, thundery mix. I hope it lasts a bit longer I enjoy living on Merseyside-Florida.

Can hear very distant thunder to my east, where are you Sheffield folk at?? It's heading your way!

Missing to the north of me according to the radar. I can wave at it as it passes.

Looked very promising, but the storms stayed just to the south of here, but saw 2 bolts and heard several rumbles, this was the view but all we got is a moderate shower.

Interesting that storm east Hereford just wants to keep going North than north west. They have had an annoying close miss.

Were actually getting some sunshine here now! First bit of sun all day, unfortunately it appears to have drawn out all the shouting/car-revving idiot nuisances.... ?‍♂️ there goes the peace, quite and faint rumbles of thunder in the distance.

You may catch the one to the south east. Sadly the southern bit has died so light rain for me.

Maybe I'm in Grenoside now with a great view east from the park. Dark skies looking east with some lovely towers to the north

Got a direct hit with the storm on Saturday night. There was a lot of lightning within clouds over the Mersey Estuary but the cloud to cloud and ground was impressive. The current storm is to the south of here at the moment.

Clearing to the south now and odds spots of light rain passing further east and north than I expected. No thunder audible

Just heard a scary sounding positive strike from the storm over south Liverpool.

Okay in the space of five minutes the storm is really dying away.
