Seems to be a convergence zone happening. Can only assume it’s the sea breezes from the North and East battling out, and possible outflow from the west from previous storms. I’d say it’s around 800-1000j/kg at the min.

Thanks.

While this southerly slack flow continues - and without the warmer SSTs I think the south and east is just going to keep breeding storms for northern areas. I really don’t believe we are due anything this week despite mentions of weds/thurs, another case of waiting... and waiting... and waiting.

I feel like kinda giving up on it this year. It’s already mid June and we’re just not getting the goods.

The balance is already well off. We are ‘owed’ about 3 big storms now round these parts. We will be lucky to get 1.

last year the two decent ones were in May and one was in the summer (can’t remember when lol). By that standard we have one storm left in the south.

Forgive me for being so downtrodden but it’s really been hard work - even chasing is an uphill struggle and just not worth the time and effort (and it’s expensive).

As much as I want to I just can’t bring myself to believe the optimistic forecasts for our area at the moment.

Nobody’s fault but they are just not verifying.

I can’t remember the last time we had a decent storm here. I think the last good one was last august and I was away on holiday

I'd say a fair chunk of the southern half of the country will be in with a chance. In my eyes, the best out of the three middle days this week. LI up to around -2 and -3, some upper level jet activity and CAPE around 700-1000 widely.

Ah so not north Wales then.... and yes I’m greedy. We’ve had 3 storms in 3 days and one today going for over 2 1/2 hours here and I still want more lol

Bit of a unit going up to my north. This has been going on all afternoon. Probably about 15 miles too far south.

Some nice towers forming NW of the Lincolnshire cells. Darker and hazy on the eastern horizon.

Really hoping these cells hold together ⚡ We're owed!

I heard it was a bit disappointing. A family member of mine who was in Bracknell at the time did say there was some thunder, so better than what I got earlier.

Had about 6 rumbles and Flashes before it moved on

Yet another storm here in Liverpool L7- had around a dozen rumbles but none directly overhead, and only moderate rain for about 10 minutes so think the cell is more over the River Mersey and south of here. With more storms maybe arriving later on this evening seems like we're in the lucky spot this week!

There's an area of increased activity around the Midlands now. Needs watching as it may be it pushes NNW as the evening progresses, which would give NW England another round.

You may catch the one to the south east. Sadly the southern bit has died so light rain for me.

line of storms passed to the north of me (still under the trailing edge).....bright sunshine overhead all afternoon with not a drop of rain, but an hour's worth of rumbles from these training cells....I bet swindon-malmsbury-stroud areas got drenched !

Snap, very frustrating indeed, one passed to the North and one to the South, the Southern one was constant thunder with plenty of visible strikes, the thunder bore no relation to the Lightning App map. Dry as a bone here, crops need water asap.

Can still hear occasional very distant thunder but nothing within about 7 miles yet. Feels very thundery out there, was thinking it didn’t before, it was quite cool and windy.
