And would you believe it...... the shower leaves Lincoln and boom. Anything else creeping into Lincoln tonight or is that yet another day of disappointment

Seems that any storm that has been heading for me has died just as it hits what rotten luck feel like someone has left the storm shield on.

We've been thoroughly spoilt around these parts over the past few days. Just what was needed after such a long storm drought in previous years!

Interesting radar shape alert for Newark

I can still see the inflow on the left of this cell but the interesting bit is beyond the houses to the north now. If I was out chasing, I'd be on the A1 to get a better view. Worksop area might be good.

Nice little crop of storms forming in the Suffolk/Norfolk/Cambs borders! ML CAPE is on the increase, so this is the reason for the up tick in activity!! It’s mad!

In Congleton we have had nothing. Few distant rumbles and a few decent sheet flashes. That's about it. Every storm has missed us just to the west. Every one.

Will these make it up to Lincoln without dying?

While this southerly slack flow continues - and without the warmer SSTs I think the south and east is just going to keep breeding storms for northern areas. I really don’t believe we are due anything this week despite mentions of weds/thurs, another case of waiting... and waiting... and waiting.

I feel like kinda giving up on it this year. It’s already mid June and we’re just not getting the goods.

The balance is already well off. We are ‘owed’ about 3 big storms now round these parts. We will be lucky to get 1.

last year the two decent ones were in May and one was in the summer (can’t remember when lol). By that standard we have one storm left in the south.

Forgive me for being so downtrodden but it’s really been hard work - even chasing is an uphill struggle and just not worth the time and effort (and it’s expensive).

As much as I want to I just can’t bring myself to believe the optimistic forecasts for our area at the moment.

Nobody’s fault but they are just not verifying.

Dare I look ahead to Thursday... looks like some real humdinger severe t-storms potentially breaking out with a fair amount of wind shear.

Which parts of the country?

Seems to be a convergence zone happening. Can only assume it’s the sea breezes from the North and East battling out, and possible outflow from the west from previous storms. I’d say it’s around 800-1000j/kg at the min.

It certainly does at the moment. The question that is keeping me grounded right now is "Will it stay active?"

Plenty of robust towers here so it's not exactly the killing Fields. Then again we've been burnt already this week!

I'd say a fair chunk of the southern half of the country will be in with a chance. In my eyes, the best out of the three middle days this week. LI up to around -2 and -3, some upper level jet activity and CAPE around 700-1000 widely.

line of storms passed to the north of me (still under the trailing edge).....bright sunshine overhead all afternoon with not a drop of rain, but an hour's worth of rumbles from these training cells....I bet swindon-malmsbury-stroud areas got drenched !
