Well over half an hour of nonstop thunder to the South then West of Warminster. Seems it hit an area with no Net Weather members lol. Oh if only it had been nighttime!

I’ve always been a winter > summer person on these forums but I’m turning! Given that winters are increasingly wet nowadays. And of course storm tracking is about as exciting as it gets

It’s like I’m watching floridan convection during the afternoon, i’m glad to finally see some excitement here these past few days even though we’re not getting hit by a storm

How much you want to bet that the monster storm SW of Nottingham is going to jump backwards to 'eat' the storm behind it, before jumping to the NE to 'eat' that storm too

Am not going to criticise the atmosphere for not trying, but as the models have indicated there is just not quite enough juice it seems to me in these parts. Some slightly better cloudscapes today though

Edit - haven’t I been corrected - this cell has just kicked out two sparks and has grown rapidly within minutes

Hi, just signed up as fancy a furlough storm chase! Can anyone advise where you think the most optimal vantage point is for viewing evening storms in the north west?

Pretty sure I can hear very faint rumbles here.

EDIT: Can definitely hear them.
