I was just reading back through the thread, this was the cloud that passed over Gresford just before the wind, rain, and hail hit on Sunday afternoon. As usual the Gresford storm defenses were in position so we didn't get the full force of the thunder and lightning, but it did rumble on for ages.

Storm2020.jpg

Yeah was pretty wild inside it with gusty winds and torrential hail being blown against the windows. Wasn't much lightning to be seen think most of it was IC lightning. But lots of loud rumbles to be heard at least.

No storms yesterday although the sunset last night made up for it. Will upload some photos from my DSLR later of it to the gallery and appropriate threads.

Mass of convecting cells over the Black Country....We seem to be surrounded by thundery cells...nothing yet for Birmingham

The storms seem to die our as they get nearer to the Bristol channel! Does anyone know why? Always seems to happen.

The stuff south of London really just can’t get going - few sparks earlier but it’s otherwise really struggling. Shame. Onto tomorrow for us me thinks

Same area that had that super cell last night. You couldn't make it up! Screenshot_20200616-150026_Chrome.thumb.jpg.fc75f02a2a98bfaf6e6b8516a2eeb0e3.jpg

Well, the high murky haze has FINALLY gone, but.... were now surrounded by towering (none stormy looking) cumulus which are still keeping us in shadow preventing the temps from rising..... ?‍♂️

Looks like we used all of our luck last night

We're developing light showers here which are intensifying as they move away from us to the north-west.

That shower still back-building on top of me. Every time the rain seems like it's calming down, it just starts back up again.

Still no lightning though....

Can see an anvil just to the SW from a heavy shower over Thurrock. Don’t know if it will electrify but it’s moving away from me anyway

The cone remains silent

We've just missed it by a few miles - I can see the cloud that's producing your rain as I type this.

Hmmm.... there's a storm just south of Nottingham that's traveling at a right-angle to all the other storms, if you run the radar back and forth it's really obvious, as it's traveling NE whereas all the other ones in the same 'line' are traveling NW o_O  and it's 'eating' the other smaller ones it runs into just like the Manchester one last night!
