Perhaps the moving picture version might?

Apparently there was a deluge 4 miles away, though not too much in the way of fireworks

when!? also is that the only risk map for that day or is there updates before and after that one?

Only 2 more days of repeated storms up north before it’s our turn and it fails to happen on the day ?‍♂️

Hearing the low booms of Thunder from Macclesfield direction, confirmed on the real-time sferics map.

Look for where it says 'valid' at the top right - so 3am Weds night/Thurs in this case. And it's not a risk map or anything like that, it's just one model's take on it. Like Paul said, some models have it way north and some have it crawling along the southern counties, so you and I need to hope for the latter

Loving the excitement - keep the posts coming peeps.

As an aside, and basing it on @Zak M post, I think blitzortung and other lightning detectors aren’t picking up a number of strikes. The thunder and lightning I was VERY lucky to get on Saturday was far more frequent than blitzortung indicated and I’m thinking that’s true of others storms around the country.

Can only sit here under blue skies with envy at what you guys are enjoying

I don't think I've seen rainfall rates that high before, it's basically off the scale! Gorgeous overshooting top too.

And still in Congleton we get nothing, the wait goes on. How can we miss a storm 3 days in a row by a few miles, what's more annoying is that storm went past to the west, now has split to the east just north of my town.
