Yes the Notts cell isn't doing a whole lot. Wonder why that is?  Still plenty warm up here at 22C and 15C dewpoint.

Look at the winds on XCWeather and I reckon you might find the answer. Same deal as the Norfolk Storms as soon as they get near that Undercut NE Wind they die

Meh, only the edge of it got me, enough rain to wet the ground, heard plenty of thunder (still rumbling away now) but only saw the clouds light up twice.

@CreweCold

This is just approaching Northwich

This has now come into view on my west, hopefully may hear a rumble from it, Macclesfield just has not hit the jackpot yet.  Been so many storms all around, in all directions, close but no cigar.

Pretty optimistic for tonight, convection is not near here at the moment but is forming well east of here further south and forming further north over time. Radar is also indicating some instability near here as well which may develop more.

Does anybody know how long conditions will be favourable for tonight.

You cannot just go on cape though Tom,there is other factors like CZ's(convergence zones),shear, lapse rates, dew points etc etc,and as is the nature of showers, some places just like the last few days get a dumping whilst most stay dry

hope that helps

i am sorry i have  got Asperger syndrome and i get  over over excited  when look at net weather cape models

I captured this earlier on under a developing cumulus but didn't get too excited as there was no rotation and logically it makes sense for it to be a scud-funnel rather than a attempt of a tornado. But it was cool to see for the few minutes it was around. The Derby storm was also spotted some 30 mins ago off to the southeast.

About five minutes I had an unexpected long deep rumble of thunder from cells to the north and east. Listening out for more.

A very distant rumble of thunder earlier in the afternoon but apart from that the sea-breeze has done a good job of killing everything off within 10 miles as I predicted this morning.

I don't post in here often albeit I have been a member for the longest time. Please dont apologise for being aspergic ever, my youngest lad is on the spectrum and he loves the weather! Give it 6 years and he'll be here doing exactly the same (you've all been warned ). Enjoy the coming days mate ?

There was a heavy shower of rain (don't remember if there was any thunder) while I was having a nap approximately 5pm.  It was so loud it woke me from a deep sleep.

Well played Sir

Just goes to show when you live in those areas you know your local conditions and what is good for storm chances. Something the models do not seem to factor in (ref local effects from Sea Breeze Convergence) much the same as Upslope Flow in the USA with the models always 3-4 hours ahead with precip not allowing for them not moving into better moisture on the Plains and milling about in the Mountains

Thanks.

The WRF was thinking similar to me earlier as well which is why I use that model when making forecasts for my area on here. Maybe something will make it this far later as the sea-breeze dies but who knows.

The cell to the NW of that is just passing me. Very dark, gusty winds and sudden drop in temperature.  Lovely structure,  but hasn't produced any t and l yet
